hey y’all! so i just got my first schedule for after cat pay. i saw that i’m scheduled for ONLY 5 HOURS compared to me making 20 hours on cat pay. i’m personally freaking out bc i don’t know how i’ll live on that. my manager has been under scheduling me ever since january, so everything has been hard. i’ve combed to hub for solid info and just can’t find much more than the additional $3/hour continuing. someone please help me!!

I believe that Starbucks is making up the difference between your average weekly hours & what you’re actually working if your hours are cut

so i saw something about this on the hub under catastrophe pay, but it didn’t say when it started or ended other than “catastrophe pay through May 3rd”

Idk about when it ends but as I understand it starts after May 3rd

From my understanding, it should have been in place already. You make $3 extra an hour for the shifts you work, and if you work less than the average you did in February, you’re paid the difference. That’s how my SM explained it to me.

okay! i’m only slightly panicked bc my fake assistant store manager today said catastrophe pay ends on the third. and i couldn’t find any info on the hub about the supplemental pay continuing after the third.

Don´t worry... I can assure you that Cat Pay has been extended through 5/31 for partners returning with reduced hours.
It is in our Store Manager Plan of Action... unfortunately, if you´re not a SM, you don´t have access to it.
For your situation, you will be paid 5 hours at Premium (extra $3/hr) and supplemented with 15 hours Cat Pay (at normal rate). You have to work that 5 hour shift though!!

that makes me feel MUCH better, thank you. i was worried that it was an idealistic hope for our return that was repeatedly being posted. but hearing from an actual store manager makes me feel more comfortable returning. thank you so so much, i appreciate you!

Anyone else feeling bummed and getting the blues really bad due to store reopenings? I’ve been quieter than usual and in such a lousy mood because for me it means having to go back to the city (major population city). Asides from feelings of unsafety, it’s also sad because it means leaving our family homes that we feel so safe in. I’m sure many others feel that way and options are available to remain sheltered, but we have to dust ourselves off and go back to work. I wish we could all take a LOA but it’s not possible for everyone to do so.
