Work policy sadness (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by round_or_profound
With the new changes in policy I’m no longer allowed to work unfortunately. I found out a couple days ago and have been trying to come to terms with it. My husband works in a hospital and due to the technically high-risk nature of his job, with the new update to policy I can’t work til the end of May.

I’m extremely sad that I’m not going to be able to work for so long. Since my cafe store went down I’ve had the time of my life filling in at drive thru locations and meeting so many other baristas.

I appreciate the steps they are taking to keep baristas safe and being considerate of all risks (I didn’t even think his position would affect anything since he’s not really in front line) but I have no idea what I’m gonna do for so long. I’m just going to be a ball of boredom and anxiety for the next like five weeks.

Just wanted to rant because I love my work and my fellow baristas and now I’m just kind of lost.

Tell your partner thank you! But you need to stay safe and protect others by not going in! Time to pick up a great book or start a new hobby you always wanted to try! Xox

It’ll be a good time to try to pick up some hobby. I’ve been using the app Duolingo to learn a new language. It’s free and set up really smooth. It could be a nice new skill to pick up.
