Someone walked into the store because her drink was wrong. (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by siriushendrix
She walked past the sign blocking the entrance and came into the store because the door wasn't properly closed. And all of us just stared, took a second to process her not being a partner and then proceed to tell her to get out. And she's like "my drink is wrong?? What am supposed to do???? Go back in line????" YES DO NOT COME IN

I legit read this with equal frustration and bewilderedness ...like...are you —are you serious?

I think my store started locking the doors for this reason. We have a partner run to unlock it when someone shows up for their shift and then lock it once they've come inside. Same thing when someone leaves or needs to run out to their car.

On a separate note, doesn't this go against a fire code? I mentioned this a couple times, but I'm just a lowly barista getting paid min. wage...

My understanding is that the doors can be locked if no customers inside and fire code is okay with that. I am not answering as a lawyer or firefighter though, so ymmv.

We leave a key in both doors so in the event of an emergency the doors can easily be unlocked

exactly what my store does. or we tell them to use the side door

I would firmly say "You cannot be in here for our safety" then proceed to go to the bathroom shut the door and have a panic attack and cry :)

What...the actual fuck lmao
CriticalSheep 22 points 3y ago
We had a guy come in because the door didn't close all the way and we all looked at him with bewilderment before the shift said 'you can't be in here' and he just kind of stood in the middle of the cafe like 'why not?' dude it's a fucking pandemic. GET OUT

There are 5 signs in front of our store along with patio furniture locked up and people be trying to get in and order...I guess ignorance is just pure bliss.

Some lady did that at our store. She came up all the way to the register with her arms crossed trying to look really mad about her drinks not being made correctly. We told her to go and wait outside and she just left for some reason instead lol. Probably embarrassed.
Ziaheart 2 points 3y ago
She probably wanted you to remake it right then and there and decided that it wasn't worth going back in line when you refused.
Espi_22 2 points 3y ago
Seems pretty accurate

I dont have patience for those people anymore. We paid someone to paint "CAFE CLOSED" on all our doors and two A frames. If you walk into my store i will say " didnt you read the door??? you cant be in here"

Isn’t that sign heavy af?? I drive by one on my way to work and their door is blocked by the heavy looking sandwich board
siriushendrix [OP] 4 points 3y ago
Yeah it's really heavy

OMGG
One time some lady came in asking to order there because the line was too long. Like???
Someone had forgotten to lock the door back up but all of us looked at in her confusion like, “what the heck are you doing??”

Worst of all she didn’t have a mask on!

We have a side door that’s opens from the inside but not outside sometimes we leave it cracked so it doesn’t lock. Customers never try that door so that’s a plus
