My store is reopening but I am not being scheduled. (self.starbucksbaristas)

So my store is opening back up on the fourth but we are only staying open till 7 I am closer who has availability from 3-10:30 and I'm just straight up not on the schedule. What do I do? Can I apply for unemployment? Will I get cat pay? Will I be able to eat?

You get CAT pay to bridge the gap between hours worked and average hours for the month of May. Go check the hub. It’s Rossann’s COVID-19 update. I would touch base with your manager too. You not being in the schedule could be a mistake.

right? my manager didn’t share this with us. didn’t talk about the cat pay bridging the gap. and it took me almost a week to find the official info on the hub.

I feel you on this, as my manager doesn’t either know anything or just doesn’t share sooo dumb

I’m sure there is another store around you who is in need of people. a lot of baristas are staying home longer than May 4th. Hit up ur manager see if any other stores have hours for u

My manager said if you are shorted hours, you get CAT pay to make up the difference.

My store is opening back up on the 6th (originally the 4th as well) and our hours are the same, 7-7. We were asked in advance to change our availabilities in Teamworks in time for the new schedule to be posted. All of the worked shifts will be at the extra $3/hr and if your average worked time is not met at the end of the week, your CAT pay kicks in to make up the difference.
So if you’re available 3-10:30 and you’re scheduled for that, you only work until 7 making the extra money but you get paid until 10:30 at your regular rate of pay. If you haven’t been scheduled at all, contact your SM and talk to them directly because every store is different when it comes to how they operate. I know my district had a huge group chat this afternoon so we’re all on the same page.
If you’re not scheduled at all, CAT pay goes until the 17th of May.

In my store they said they were going to scooch your hours back, so if your close was at 10 and you work 4 hours, youd work 4 hours until the new closing time. I dont like it at all.

Have you actually verified and talked to your SM about why you´re not on the schedule?

This may be random... but are you basing this off the Teamworks App? Schedules will not be visible to partners until the store physically re-opens. If youŕe using the App to view your schedule, it will show you with zero hours.

Don´t worry though... you´ll still get your average baseline Cat Pay hours through May 31st (in the US) if you´re scheduled reduced hours.

My schedule has shown 'catastrophe pay' and a total amount of hours for each week.
