When I had a my ten anniversary, my DM came and a couple of my favorite coworkers. I got a cool plaque. Very low key, and I got back to work (I was wondering why I was asked to come in a little early) . My last day was a few weeks later. I went on my coffee break telling people I’d return soon, which I never did because I got a job on my field. I didn’t want any fanfare, I just wanted to exit the company as simply as I entered. I know a lot of regulars wondered about me, and I’m still in contact with a handful of them. It’s a job, it has it moments and it’s benefits. Many great benefits actually. I just wanted to work hard the very last day and set people up for success. And I carry that on to my current job and my hobbies.
