Question about tarbucks (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by jupiterjellies
I work at a licensed store right now at my college and my hours have been cut severely because of the virus so I applied to a Target Starbucks and I was wondering would it be that different than my licensed college Starbucks?
Also if regular Target workers get $13/hr there would Tarbucks workers get that too?

Sorry about Reddit etiquette of my post I’ve never posted before and just made this account. Thank you!

I’m not sure how licensed college starbucks run, but I can tell you that at Target our menu is a little more limited than at corporate stores. (less sandwich/pastry items, no blonde espresso, no nitro, etc.) There’s usually 1-2 people working at a time and there’s no shift supervisors, just the team leads at Target, who typically don’t have a clue about starbucks and don’t really want to deal with us most of the time tbh. At my store they barely ever talk to us so we kind of end up fending for ourselves a lot of the time.

And yes! If you work at a tarbucks you are technically a Target employee, so you’d be getting the $13/hr.

At the two stores i’ve worked at, both as a barista, the hours were not that great. However, since I work for Target, I can technically be scheduled for any other section of the store as long as I’m trained for it. This is super helpful if you’re looking to get more hours. If you’re willing, let them know that you’re open to working other areas if it means getting more hours. Keep in mind though that it means you may be working Starbucks very little if other areas of the store are in desperate need of help.

Hope this helps!

Thanks so much! My interview is tomorrow so I will for sure let them know that I can work in other areas.
