Covid positive partner at my store(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by golden_pinky
I took the cat pay. A partner was covid positive and several of my other partners were exposed. We are staying closed for a little bit but we are still opening up soon. Unnerving to be in a building *just knowing* someone with it was inside. I likely already have been in contact at some point because my city is still seemingly busy, despite a stay at home order. I'm nervous 😜

Actually we legit have this same issue. 12 partners are out because of it; including our gen manager -and yet..we didn’t even close except for hazmat to come in, we’re still open and operating We were called as a way to “not freak out about the idea of it starting all over again” that we now “have the cleanest store in the district because everything has been sterilized and sanitized”. How there are “masks but we should rely on brining our own.”
Listen. I want to identify as being indifferent because of how long this has gone on I’m just numb to it...but this is kinda- unokay? Like none of the protocol that’s been put in place makes much of any sense and we’re still having breakouts and infections. Their actions that they take to “reassure” or “tend to/clean up” is appearing more and more like a false bandaid to anyone looking from the outside. Yet the view of inside out, is widely different.

A store manager in my district got it, and went to a district meeting (back on march 18th, which the DM insisted on doing in person), so the entire management team for the district was in quarantine except for one manager who had to miss the meeting.

Were they actually tested? They’re diagnosing people with “having it”, yet not even testing them. People are going to the hospital or doctor, and then being told:
“Yep, here’s your discharge papers. You’ve got it. Even though we didn’t even test you, we’re gonna go off your symptoms and just say you have it”.
I know people it’s happened to, and seen case upon case personally, as well as online and YouTube where people are told they’ve got it, based on symptoms alone, no test. So try not to panic just yet.

I mean I guess I didn't ask those details because it's technically none of my business. But that's interesting and a good point, I didn't realize that was happening.
