Do some Starbucks make separate whips made for puppuccinos?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by syntheticstrawbrry
Someone said that their friend (who is a barista) said that in California they make whips with no vanilla and “sweetener for dogs” for puppuccinos. When I said that I (a barista in Texas) had never heard of that and would think that’d be a company wide thing, the lady started getting defensive, told me I “can’t say it’s not true” because Cali is different.
To be honest, it makes sense to make separate whips without sweetener for the dogs if vanilla is supposedly bad for them, but this girl said there was a “sweetener for dogs” (which is ?) and was just like shockingly rude on a wholesome video’s comment section. Baffling.

Nope. We just spray whatever is closest into a short cup 🤷🏼♂️

Must be a very store specific thing.

The only way Starbucks would is if they started charging for them

It’s not just the vanilla that’s bad for pups. It’s the cream. They can’t process dairy. Just like cats.

Yeah, I always thought it was weird that we give out cups of whips to animals who can properly process it, but idk man

I’m an SSV in OK and was an SSV in California and we didn’t make special whips for dogs. I’ve worked in more than one store and more than one state and I’ve never heard that

I really just think the woman wanted to be right. It was quite comical when she was trying to act like I don’t know how to do my own job lol.

Wtf? No lol.
I live and work in SoCal and no store I’ve been to makes a special whip for dogs. A “puppechino” or “pup cup” isn’t a menu item so there’s no special recipe for it. Just regular whip in a short cup. Like everywhere else

Hi barista in SoCal we do not have a special whip for dogs so idk what she's talking about

Same for Michigan also, no separate whips for dogs. Worked in a few locations, and have also been a borrowed partner for other stores many times. She’s probably also a customer who takes advantage of the “make the moment right” policy.

As someone who as worked in California (central Cal and now the Bay Area) for a number of years, we have never made a separate WC for dogs, that’s a bit extra, also, we only put it in a sample cup, unless they wanna pay for a short.
