Insurance Eligibility Impacted by COVID? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by mx1_jawbreaker
hey y'all, what's good. I originally started working at starbucks because I'm trans and I *really wanted* that good good insurance, but it hit me the other day that-- oh heck-- due to COVID-19, I've been on the cat pay. I haven't been able to work at all (ended my lease, had to move cities, finishing distance-learning college classes, doing relocation paperwork right now still), and I'm worried that I won't be able to make the 20hrs per week minimum for the insurance review.

Are they offering any "wiggle room" for insurance reviews right now? Or will taking the cat pay be like "well you got paid, but you weren't actually working those hours. so it's a month of 0hr work weeks."

The cat pay counts toward your benefit hours.
Also- they reduced the hours needed from 520 to 510.

I’m not sure off the top of my head, but if you check the partner website they talk about this. I think they decreased the hours needed a bit but i’m not sure how they’re including cat pay into it, best bet is to look at your BEN hours and see if they’ve went up since cat pay
normally i’d check but i’m on mobile at my other job and the interference on the phone isn’t user friendly

I'll check that out later, thank you !
