I’m pissed at both honestly: I honestly think some people come here just to tell someone what to do

No doubt, but these behaviors are not just tolerated but low key encouraged and nurtured by Starbucks culture. And who rewards this shitty behavior with unwarranted recovery cards and doesn't empower their employees to be able to enforce their own policies??? I genuinely can't blame the public for that.
ReEliseYT3 points3y ago
Absolutely, every time we hand out a recovery card or apologetically remake a perfectly made drink we encourage people to come back and act like entitled assholes. It also presets a problem with consistency, such as how much you should put in a drink with no ice, at my store we will fill up a Trenta cup if someone wants no ice, but if that person goes to a different store and just gets the amount that is supposed to go in that size, then they get all mad. Also I hate that corporate does very little to discourage customers verbally and sexually harassing us.

Yea it's those "little" things that remind me that at the end of the day this is a business and we are just cogs in this machine...
tragicalyhappy3 points3y ago
And I'm not talking just about syrup pumps guys. This includes sauces, inclusions, drizzles, packets, temp, milk, etc. Also let me reiterate; the fact that the company gives the customer the power to customize their beverage is a perfectly acceptable ploy to draw in business. It's the RIDICULOUS LIMITLESS EXTENT of customization that's enfruriating! To the point where recipes and beverage making policies don't matter anymore. EX: no foam cappuccinos....what the actual fuck...

good lord the amount of 14-pump lattes i make...
dancing_durian3 points3y ago
Try 19 pump caramel latte with whip and extra caramel and the guy who orders it tells you to remake it two more times citing it takes like water. 😑

The thing that upsets me is that my SM says we can not argue over any drink. We get so many “triple espresso in a venti iced cup, 5 pumps of white mocha and extra 2%, add ice and whip” that it gets annoying that people order like that to save less than $1. Also, “a trenta refresher with no inclusions, water or ice”. Those irritate me, despite the 2nd being easy to make.
tragicalyhappy2 points3y ago
Yea I get those all the time, but it's not ur SM's fault. They just know that if the customer puts up a fight and notifies corporate, your store will receive instruction to apologize and just make the drink anyway. Trust I've been down this path.
godlylatte1 points3y ago
If i remember correctly its like 12 pumps max or something
kitcat12103 points3y ago
It’s only on mobile orders that it’s limited to 12. If they order in store it can be as many as they want lol
tragicalyhappy2 points3y ago
Definitely not, I've done over 20 pumps for a drink easily and more times than I'm comfortable with..
godlylatte1 points3y ago
Yeah at my store we could refuse to give more than 12
tragicalyhappy2 points3y ago
You guys are an exception and a minority I can guarantee you that! The culture is pretty much the customer can do whatever they want with their cup and it's horrible.
