I left once for a few months and came back. One year of hell later...
Leaving permanently this time for a great job and even picked up a fun side hustle.
I'll miss my co workers, miss a select few if my customers, but I don't feel bad for giving a few days notice.
My parents health & ability to care for themselves has declined rapidly and they need my help too.
My family and my career prospects take priority over this Starbucks.
The threats of "return or be separated if you don't get approved for LOA" was the nail in the coffin.
