I know right now is probably not the best time 😭 but do most managers really make it impossible for you to not transfer. Apparently my sm wants a valid valid reason, I already know her and giving her some simple excuse will not sit with her AND when trying to bring up the convo she tries to avoid it at all cost. My old sm became a dm and I rather go work for his district, he picked me up a while back from my old job so Im so grateful for him, hes one of those bosses that really see something in you and help you grow, as he did when he was my sm. I just need some advice 🥺

I transferred with in the same town and my reason was for development potential (not to move up in the company but to become better at my job) because I was at the same store for several years. So maybe look into trying to find a reason like that? Not sure this helps.

That sounds legit, I work in midtown nyc, so its already fast paced. I can already hear her say some bs about our store being the best at developing partners or something lol. Ill def be looking into that though.

maybe something like “i feel like i’ve grown a little too comfortable here, and in an effort to challenge myself and further my development both personally and professionally i’d like to move to a different store to step out of my comfort zone.” ?

Just tell your SM you are moving and new store is closer to your new home. They can’t deny a transfer based on that.
