Just a reminder that no primates should be pets! All of them are somehow involved in illegal pet trade which contributes to deforestation as well as decimating local animal populations. Even if the primate pictured above is a rescue, taking it out in public and posting it online makes casual viewers more inclined to want and perhaps purchase a monkey continuing the cycle!

Yeah, you're absolutely right. At the moment it made the tedious day more interesting, but it was disturbing to see how it had literally been *dressed up in clothes*. Poor little guy :/

The vast majority of monkeys for sale as pets are captive bred, so not decimating wild populations or destroying forests.

Aside from that, a pet monkey is not automatically a part of the illegal pet trade. They are legal to own, breed, and sell in most us states provided the people involved have the appropriate licensing.

legal doesn't automatically mean ethical :-) primates are social creatures and putting them in a non wild habitat is almost always detrimental to them.
