Partners on TikTok Please Stop (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by golddustsongbird
My store was talking about this today, one girl on tiktok particular, who keep making all these “secret menu” and custom drinks. Seriously if I gotta make one more sunburst Frappuccino I’m gonna go insane. Make whatever drinks you want but stop telling people about them in hope for the next pink drink. I applaud you for your creativity, but please for love of god stop$

Partners on tiktok can lose their jobs, and they don’t realize it.
StormTheParade 99 points 3y ago
U kno she won't tho, she's basically providing free advertisement
gone_gay 38 points 3y ago
Till she starts complaining like that one you tuber
whattheactualfckman 70 points 3y ago
The one Youtuber who got fired because she said that Pike Place tastes like "ass"
gone_gay 102 points 3y ago
Did she lie? No.
sawawastar 15 points 3y ago
So many people have. Don’t expect throw a drink at the wall and get away with it lmao
jjrrddnn 2 points 3y ago
Do they actually get fired for doing the throwing drinks ones??
sawawastar 7 points 3y ago
Yeah, like @bayareasbux said, the people I’ve heard of getting fired are the ones who could damage Starbucks property. That whole trend with bouncing the new shot glasses off the floor got someone near us fired...my manager said if she ever heard of one of us doing that we’d be done too lmao
nobullshitplz 5 points 3y ago
The only one I heard they did get fired for doing, was the one where they all flipped off the camera with the Full House theme song. A pretty obvious firing, but also not one of the drink making ones
BayAreaSBux 3 points 3y ago
I believe the only ones that got fired for throwing drinks was if the drink hit a machine(e.g: the grinder and/or mastrenas) because you could *potentially* break them and you’re damaging corporate equipment intentionally.
Jojos_bizarre_adv 109 points 3y ago
she’s a sadist who gets off from making partners suffer
crzyshiba 14 points 3y ago
Your local sadist barista here to make your day hell,,, I hope I don’t run into that haha
official_koda_ 88 points 3y ago
If people want to share, then they should come on reddit and type abbreviations so customers can’t understand
meezy92 43 points 3y ago
I don't understand why Starbucks hasn't addressed this yet. Aren't we not supposed to disclose this information to the public?
lobotomydreams 6 points 3y ago
we're technically not, but the biggest issue is with the recipe cards we have
Bruhayy 3 points 3y ago
we arent but since they are giving Starbucks more publicity, they arent going to question it
westhawk777 41 points 3y ago
But here’s the way I look at it when I do get them. All the customizations jack up the price and our avg ticket sale goes up. Keep adding .5 pumps of 8 different syrups and pay 3 extra dollars!
blkjoey 29 points 3y ago
Is that beneficial to us though?
meezy92 32 points 3y ago
Unfortunately yea :( higher ticket = more labor available = more hours for the store
blkjoey 1 points 3y ago
damn i've never thought about it terms of transaction price, i've always assumed it was more based on order volume, but they are tied together.
Megaladon526 -6 points 3y ago
Plus Starbucks gives us all free stock.
TylerTheBox 19 points 3y ago
More money=more delegated hours to the store.
blkjoey 1 points 3y ago
damn i've never thought about it terms of transaction price, i've always assumed it was more based on order volume, but they are tied together.
juliusolivas 1 points 3y ago
Right, order volume is directly related to higher average ticket cost and/or higher gross weekly profits of any particular store. Not just Starbucks but in business chains.
wooperquil 37 points 3y ago
why we always complaining about making headass drinks (yes some of them are fucking unbelievable) when we literally get paid to do exactly that
Like don’t get me wrong, I hate making secret menu drinks just as much as the next, but like our job is to literally make what they want
Idgaf what you order, as long as you understand that the more customizable things you add to it the more room for error there is and that it’ll take longer 🤷🏽‍♀️
Simplyroro 12 points 3y ago
I just tell the customer you tell me what you want I can blend it. But I'm not responsible for the taste.
drinkliquidclocks 5 points 3y ago
I agree, I have no problem making custom drinks as long as the customer is polite and knows what TF they are ordering.

But for some reason, the people who happen to order these special drinks always act super rude and entitled. Maybe it's because they're young teenagers. And when they complain about the price 😐😐😐😐

At least the pink drink was pretty simple...
brokenlatteart 8 points 3y ago
Like I’m okay if they providing a recommendation or their favorite drink. But I don’t need barista making more complicated drinks that my customers, 1 don’t know how to order, and 2 I don’t know how to make

But I do love those videos of baristas “fighting” with customers because same
dalydesserts 1 points 3y ago
And then when the drink tastes disgusting, cause some of these drinks do, they complain back to you and want a new drink for free.
Cappuccinosoup 3 points 3y ago
I always hated making tiktok drinks when working... as a supervisor it made me happy though because more add ons = more labour. We always had ridiculous labour anyway because we upsold clover out the wazoo so with the addition of all these adds we were always packed with too many partners in our store at most hours of the day 😂
flexi_lexii 2 points 3y ago
At our store unless the customer tells us EXACTLY how to make the drink we don’t have to make it for them
kingnojames 2 points 3y ago
hahahahah 😭😭😭
mthrowaway311 1 points 3y ago
my store manager has been begging me to find out what store she works at for months. she keeps saying she wants to have a chat with her DM. if anyone knows let me know lolllll
KusanagiShiro 1 points 3y ago
What in the WORLD is a TikTok?
Saoirse_Says 1 points 3y ago
It's like Snapchat smashed together with Vine. You post a short video of you doing something, usually to music (it's based off the bones of Musical.ly). Interestingly its use has been banned for members of the US military on account of the app's Chinese ownership. Part of the privacy policy includes that any you provide the app can be shared with the Chinese government.

ugh when people ask me to put a brownie or cookie in their frappechino and are confused when we have to say “no we can’t do that, please don’t take the word of someone on tik tok”
ToriGuacamole 1 points 3y ago
BRING THIS POST TO THE TOP🙌🏽
captainofkitten 1 points 3y ago
Please stop.

I mean if she wants to make tik toks or random recipes then just let her lol. Sometimes life is not about us
SteampoweredClock 67 points 3y ago
Yeah I know my life isn't about me. It's about the customer and nothing else. Starbucks has taught me that.
The job is annoying enough without these drinks.
chinfox 50 points 3y ago
she’s genuinely allowed to make whatever her heart desires, OP is simply asking her not to advertise it to 12 year olds so that we aren’t making surprise me drinks until 2022
wooperquil 2 points 3y ago
exactly.
all these partners complaining about making drinks when that’s literally your whole job. You’re a barista. grow up.
