Supervisor said we're being temporarily paid more?(self.starbucksbaristas)

My store is a cafe store and our hours at the moment are 7 AM - 1 PM. So everyones hours are cut short.
He said something about the $3/hour to help with the difference in hours, but also said we're still getting cat pay.
If we're really being paid a lot more I might start picking up shifts.

I don’t know about your situation but yes in NYC we are getting the extra $3/ hour CAT pay. Unfortunately, we’re working in groups (same people every shift) to minimize the risk of the whole store getting sick. This is done so if one partner in the group gets sick, only the group of partners that was working with them gets taken out of work for the 2 week period. Again unfortunately, this means we can not pick up shifts.

If you're in the U.S. then you're getting the extra $3 an hour for the rest of May. You'll still be paid for your minimum amount of hours if the hours that you work don't equal up to that average. The $3 is only applied to the hours that you actually work though.

My SM told us that if you’re getting reduced hours due to their scheduling/store hours you would get CAT up to your usual pay, in addition to getting $3/hr for each hour you worked.
So for example this week I got 20ish hours when I’m usually doing 38. So I’m getting paid like I worked 38 hours but getting an extra $3/hr for the 20 I actually worked.

So basically I was a avging 20-25 hours a week.
Im working 20ish hours now. Im paid for my average 20-25 hour weeks + 20hours @ $3/hour?

If your baseline average from February is 25 hours, then if you work 20 hours... you´ll receive 20 hours at Premium Pay ($3/hr) and then 5 hours Cat Pay (at regular rate). This will end on 5/31.
