Kevin Johnson was outspoken in April about how he could afford to pay partners through the end of the year if need be. My SM said Starbucks has catastrophe insurance which is how they were able to give us cat pay. They haven’t lost nearly as much money as you think they have. They are still the 3rd largest fast food corporation in the world. The drive thru stores are still extremely busy, and the second restrictions begin to lift, they will go back to making a SHIT TON of money. If you think Starbucks is unable to pay their partners more, you have no fucking idea how much money this giant corporations actually has.

People like you make me sad. Why wouldn’t you be pushing for better pay for your fellow partners? I’m grateful for what Starbucks has done during this difficult time of Covid-19 and the benefits they provide for us but that doesn’t mean they don’t have the means to pay us for the job we do.

I’m a single 24 year old participating in the ASU program. For the entire time I’ve worked at Starbucks I’ve had to work two jobs as to not be living paycheck to paycheck. I love the company and I have been a loyal partner for over 5 years but I guarantee you, I will not sit by idly any longer. We deserve to get paid better plain and simple and they’ve shown us they can provide. There will not be progress if there isn’t a push from within!
