Starbucks has made it company policy that all partners must wear facial coverings while at work. It’s proven that facial coverings don’t protect us from airborne particles but help protect those around us if we are sick. Right now, hundreds of customers are coming to stores everyday without masks, possible spreading COVID-19 to Starbucks partners. The petition below outlines that Starbucks should require all customers to wear face masks to protect us while we are going back to work. Here’s the link below:

The reason they don’t want to require it is that some people are getting violent about being told to wear a mask. I share your concern, but also share the concerns the company has about partners being the enforcers of what has become a charged issue. Ideally, the police would be enforcing mask use. I agree that I want the customers masked, btw, would be nice if they all just wanted to be decent members of society without being told to.

Starbucks in Canada... at least Ontario are going to be asking customers to wear one when they come... it was in the weekly update on Monday... and on the hub... and workplace

Really? I was told the other day by my SM that we can recommend customers wear masks, but we legally can't require it.

We shouldn’t be prioritizing profits over partners. Especially when it goes against local legislation
