People still getting cat pay?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by ava10234
So heard that people over 60 and people who are high risk ie pregnant, immune compromised, are still get cat pay... is that true or just a rumor? I’m 8 months pregnant and went back because i was told I’d have to use my pto which I plan on using after maternity leave. Just wanted to know if that rumor was true... also when we were signing stuff to reopen the other day on the iPads i was told not to mark that i was pregnant? Idk I went with it. Person who told me not to mark I was pregnant was sm.

Whoever told you to mark you are not pregnant can get into huge trouble for that. Contact your SM or DM. You absolutely should have been getting cat pay. There’s people who can’t work because their SO or whoever they live with is a healthcare worker and are getting CAT pay because they can’t come into work. That is absolutely not okay and I’m upset for you.

I tried calling pcc today, didn’t know i can’t call until tomorrow for normal hours. I haven’t been treated right my whole pregnancy. Even my coworkers told me it’s not right.

And my dm was there when my sm said don’t mark I’m pregnant (:. I understand I choose to work, but i wasn’t told that I get cat pay (if that’s the case) so that’s why I came back because I have bills.

I called HO myself and was told I should be getting cat for another month but my manager is trying to tell me I should just quit instead. I really don't want to lose this job, but im immunocompromised and high risk

Gotta love our managers... I’m scared about losing my job... but I’ve been w the company 5 years and is hope they wouldn’t fire me due to just wanting to be safe... but I feel like my manager will have the same reaction.

I’m in Canada and 9 months pregnant, and I’m entitled to cat pay until May 17th sooooo yeah I would definitely be contacting your DM as soon as possible.

Thank you for responding! I definitely will be doing that in the morning!

I find it ridiculous that the company (and the rest of the US generally) don’t have maternity leave before having the baby. 8 months pregnant and running around and dealing with so much stress sounds absolutely horrible I’m so sorry

It honestly is, somebody attempted to throw a drink at me the other day, but I’m finishing up nursing school and don’t have a choice! 😞

My location is still getting cat pay because we have yet to reopen. A coworker is pregnant and is definitely still getting cat pay.

I’m in the US and I’m still on cat pay because my other job is in a high-COVID risk healthcare job.

I called pcc I’m 10 weeks pregnant they told me I can take the extra pay but I decided to go back to work because they cut my cat pay from 30 hours to 23.
ava10234 [OP]1 points3y ago
Yeah I’m definitely going to call in the morning.— ugh I get the hour cut I went from 36 hours a week to getting paid around like 25-26 hours a week on cat pay I think... but honestly it’s so common to give birth at 8 months that I don’t want to potentially risk my baby if I was in contact with somebody. Idk maybe I sound crazy.— we just had a couple members from a store a couple miles down the road text pos for covid and we have the covid test sight 3 miles within our store. So I’m just worried.
Ajskdjurj1 points3y ago
Your def not crazy. You need to worry about your safety and the baby.
ptvsupernatural2 points3y ago
that’s wrong. i would talk to someone.

They don’t want you to click yes for pregnancy on the survey because it will automatically tell you to go home. If you’re preggo, don’t go back to work, you should be included for the cat pay extension.
