Had a lady come through drive today and say "can I have two boy cake pops and two girl ones" and we were shook. Mind you 3 out of the 4 partners that were on the floor today are gender non-conforming trans folks (myself being one of them). We were trying to figure out what she was referring to and she got mad that we didn't have blue cake pops for her boys. Real shook y'all that only girls can have birthdays oop
_book_queen168 points3y ago
What kind of Karen bull crap is this LOL
lebrellj127 points3y ago
If pink birthday cake pops are for girls, I assume red velvet are for pretty ladies. Chocolate cake pops are OBVIOUSLY for manly men, being coated in black fondunt. Tan-ass cookie dough pops are for y'all "gender is a social construct" types. I'm a bit amiss, however, on who gets to consume lemon cake pops - unicorns maybe?
prisonerofazkaLAN88 points3y ago
Lemon cake pops are obviously for the bisexuals
eye-brows7 points3y ago
But I'm bisexual and I think gender is a social construct!
reiiayanami7 points3y ago
you get double cake pops
prisonerofazkaLAN3 points3y ago
It is
geedarnit3 points3y ago
Can confirm
ahhpoo2 points3y ago
Cat cake pops are for furries
Getpa29 points3y ago
Obviously the yellow lemon cake pops are for the easter bunny.
RyderDie1999 [OP]20 points3y ago
We asked what they meant and she was like " like blue and pink ones?!?!!"
MonstrousGiggling30 points3y ago
I know myself and I'm such a troll even at work I would have made her repeat herself like 5 times before being like "OOOOOOOH. No sorry mam."
Seriously like how did you guys actually reply to this obnoxious beotch? I wouldn't have been rude per se but I definitely would've gotten my troll roll on.
RyderDie1999 [OP]11 points3y ago
We were in shock tbh we just told her we had pink, brown, and black because we were also high key very busy. The partner on DTO too was probably not the partner who should have as far as knowing how to respond
lee_monn3 points3y ago
What about the valentines one? The snowman? 🤔
lebrellj7 points3y ago
Valentines Day is only for ladies, duh. Men don't like nice things like chocolate, flowers, gifts or acts of kindness.
lebrellj6 points3y ago
Snowman cake pops are actual sentient beings who, like Mayans, self select who will be sacraficed to the pastry case in order to appease the Siren God.
They do not care who eats their remains, simply that they are enjoyed.
silversungoddess1 points3y ago
Can’t be unicorns cause there is going to be a whole unicorn cake pop for them lol
lebrellj1 points3y ago
Oh for fucks sake. If that is for real, I already cannot handle the customers who will be calling the store asking if we still have some left.
silversungoddess1 points3y ago
Yup. Unicorn cake pop is going to be a thing. It was in the now brewing
VentiEggBite107 points3y ago
I would have said I don’t know the cake pops’ gender but I could run to the food case and ask
RyderDie1999 [OP]68 points3y ago
I literally said after words "yes I would like two penis pops and two vulva ones please"
MonstrousGiggling7 points3y ago
LOL!
sweetbabidoll2955 points3y ago
Fuuuuckkkkkk
Tara_Kitten54 points3y ago
Cis people: Why are trans people obsessed with gender???
Also cis people: CaN i hAvE 2 BoY AnD 2 GiRl CaKePoPs!
silversungoddess1 points3y ago
Please don’t lump us all together in that group. Smh. Boy and girls cake pops. Who ever heard of such a thing. Guess I should stop playing in the dirt too.
SelocAvrap2 points3y ago
"not all cis people"
CoffeeChesirecat27 points3y ago
Wow. I would have just played dumb until she asked about the flavors.
star_pants26 points3y ago
Just wait until she learns that it's not the colour of their coating that counts, but the flavour inside
lebrellj3 points3y ago
Boooooo. Way to bring down the party with your nice feelings. What's next, a broken coating is still beautiful?
Skitsskatss26 points3y ago
Had this happen to me and I insisted that instead she pick a flavor instead. Repeatedly told her that we don’t have girl or boy cake pops, we have chocolate , cookie dough , or birthday cake. She was pissed lol
Oh and she ended up with two birthday cakes 🤷♀️
kait_lynb18 points3y ago
That’s what I would have done. If she persisted I would have said “ma’am, these are cake pops. They’re food. They don’t have genders.”
siriushendrix14 points3y ago
I had three guys come in one day. Two order grande pikes. No room. They made a point of telling me they drink their coffee black. The third guy orders a grande white mocha. First guy that ordered goes “that’s a girls drink, right?” While chuckling and I give him the straightest face and go “I don’t see why it would be. I don’t think it is” and his smile falters but asks again. “It’s kinda a girls drink? Right?” And this point I know he wants me to agree. And I just once again say “no I don’t think so. Plenty of guys that come through the drive thru and in the store get a white mocha” and he points to my partner on the floor who was making his own drink WITH WHITE MOCHA and proceeds to ask “well what if I ask him?” And deadpan I go “he’s making his drink with white mocha right now” and looking slightly irritated he just says okay and they pay and I make the white mocha and they leave. This dude was just waiting for me to confirm that his friend ordered a “girly” drink. I wonder what he would say about the guys that drink pink drinks or anything besides a black coffee.
lebrellj6 points3y ago
Got that once when two "bros" come in and one ordered a refresher. Like, no, I do not think strawberries are gay OR girly.
kait_lynb11 points3y ago
I feel like this would be a good post for r/AreTheStraightsOK
RyderDie1999 [OP]7 points3y ago
It's been added and I now have a new subreddit to lose myself in for hours lol
Bryancreates9 points3y ago
Should’ve said there’s a “pink tax” on the girl ones so they are more expensive. If pink razors are pricier so are the cake pops. (/s obviously)
rileyabsolutely9 points3y ago
What a fucking dumbass LMAO
RueCamp27 points3y ago
I read somewhere before that back then the color blue was generally associated with the Virgin Mary hence the more feminine connotations, & pink was linked to red which was seen as strong & masculine color. So there's that. 😁 Either way, what the hell..? They're cake pops!
lebrellj6 points3y ago
In 19th Century England, boys wore pink because adult men wore red uniforms. It wasn't until the 1940s that pink became highly gendered. I believe (but could also being totally wrong) that colors were less gendered and more associated with class status before the 20th century because of the costs of sourcing and making dyes.
sweetbabidoll2957 points3y ago
Ok serious question... have we ever had blue colored cake pops???? I get it if you’re being stereotypical and like “pink for girls!!” But when have we had blue!!? We had cats before, parrots, and the winter brownie ones but I don’t think we’ve had blue???
Am I forgetting a “BLUE BOY CAKE POP?!?” 🤣🤣🤣
According to Karen I am!!
dime_store_magic8 points3y ago
I think you mean blue balls? Which obviously means they are the boy ones! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
sweetbabidoll2958 points3y ago
Omg- can you imagine...
“Can I have two pretty tittie cake pops for my girls and some blue ball cake pops for my boys?”
🤣🤣🤣🤣
lebrellj3 points3y ago
I cannot truly express the joy this comment brings.
elcoffeeboi193 points3y ago
I think cake pops are cake pops and no one should be offended or come up with conspiracies or opinions about different cake pops for different sexual orientations.
elysemosunset2 points3y ago
Dude really it's a cake pop people r weird lol
crowbarboobie2 points3y ago
the elusive nonbinary cake pop

Your comment is irrelevant to the topic. We're talking about a silly interaction with a customer, and you're just randomly spouting about politics when that literally has nothing to do with the topic.
