"Hey this is _____ can I talk to the shift? Yeah unfortunately I woke up feeling really sick and I'm not able to come in today. I texted a couple people to try and get the shift covered. Okay, thank you, bye!"

Technically it's not your job to get your shift covered but it never hurts to message the group chat if you have one 🤷‍♀️

“I’m feeling sick and can’t come in” no explanation needed.

I feel yeah, I would say hi I’m calling out sick. I have a fever/vomiting/ etc and per Starbucks policy is housing come to work and put others at risk. It is not your responsibility to find someone to cover your shift if it’s more than 24 hours in advance but it wouldn’t hurt if you tried. You can say I’d like to use my sick hours of you have any

“Hey can I talk to the shift?”

*shift picks up

“I’m not feeling too good right now *insert symptoms you’re feeling here* so I’m gonna have to sit this one out for today sorry about that”
