Autoimmune Partner: Extended Cat-Pay (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by cosmicsnowpea
Hey, so this is really good news.
I’m 25 (F), and I live in the biggest city in my state.
I have been diagnosed with autoimmune, and I get sick really easily.

When Cat pay initially launched off, I went home to stay with my parents. My hometown had no confirmed cases of COVID-19.
I came back to the city last week to return to work. I also live in a college dorm, that is open for students to stay (there’s probably only 10 students on campus left).

Work made me so terrified, being in the city made me terrified and I feel unsafe everywhere.

My manager had told me that cat-pay would be extended for those in circumstances where a partner may be more susceptible, and said I was one of the few who she knew could use it.

So I went back on cat-pay yesterday.

I can’t say enough how relieved I am. I’m extremely thankful that the company is caring for their partners with health issues during this time.

how much longer will you be on catpay for? i’m also one of those ppl so I’m considering calling partner services. just curious how much longer you’ll be allowed to be off.

I have off until June 1! Not very long, but it’s still really helpful!

at this point it doesn’t even feel like it’d be worth it for me

If it helps at all, after the special circumstance CAT pay, they will allow you to take an LOA starting June 1st. You would have to be back by July 1st of course or decide to leave the company.

but I wouldn’t get paid or qualify for unemployment so that’s an option but unfortunately not viable for a lot of us
