I had a really emotional moment today [ death talk cw ] (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by aspiringandroid
I was DTO when a customer asked me when I'd last brewed pike. she then went on to explain that she's a hospice nurse and her patient wants a hot, fresh of coffee before he takes the big sleep. I brewed her fresh coffee right there, and she was so thankful and kind. I almost started crying when I handed it out. I drew a little heart on the cup because I didn't know what else to do. I hope she's doing okay, and I hope her patient goes peacefully. I just needed to share that. thanks y'all.

We are all going to die. Be kind to everyone you meet. I know of many stage 4 cancer patients that like to go to Starbucks (but you might never realize when serving them how few days they have left). Try to take this as a message of how precious and fleeting life is. Be thankful for your health, and love and enjoy life like there is no tomorrow! We all seem to forget that we are not invincible. You helped provide a last pleasure to someone. That is wonderful in itself. Now try to enjoy your life and find (and be thankful) for all of the beauty in the world. Treasure each day. That should be the lesson we all learn when we see others passing on. Enjoy life!

Thanks for sharing. I hope you can take comfort in knowing you played a part in making someone's last moments that much better, as heartbreaking as it is to consider the finality of those moments.
