I've only seen this happen at one store with a pushover SM and an angry customer. It happened too many times and the DM actually got involved bc he was a stickler for policy for some reason... he was odd like that.

You were right, it’s only for rewards members. If someone was like really harassing me I might just give it to them and tell them to sign up later, but policy is that it is just for rewards members.

I’ve never had that happen to me nor have I heard a customer expect that. Any customer who that does the free birthday drink is already a Starbucks member.

Yeah if someone’s annoying I don’t argue because life is short. Unless they’re being really disrespectful then I stand my ground because eff that. But you were right they need to have their app or card with them.
