Got hired but how long do I have to wait before I can transfer states? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Due to Covid, I was unable to move put of FL to Oregon like I have been saving and planning on. Also since I was working at a mom and pop coffee shop I was furloughed from lack of business with no financial assistance. So I’ve been using my saving to live instead of to move. However I just got a job at a Starbucks, but I feel really guilty about asking when I can move out of this humid hell hole, cause I don’t want it to look like I’m not grateful for the job/they trained me just so I could move. Is it 90 days? 6 months?

I don’t think there is a minimum time. You just have to finish barista basics and be in good standing with the company (no write ups is what that means I believe). Surely they’ll understand, especially since you’ve been planning for this.

Thanks a bunch! I start training in over a week I’m so annoyed it’s taking 3 weeks to start!

Same. I was hired at the beginning of august last year and didn’t start training until September lol

Hi!! I think it depends on your manager. I moved from OR to Cali for only 3 months when I initially said 6 months and am being transferred back to OR for school. When I first moved from OR to Cali, I worked there for about 5 months. My managers both really loved working with me and were very good managers :)

Aww thanks! I’m really in a pickle with all this, and I haven’t even been trained yet so I feel like an ass to ask! Thanks for responding
