submitted by buxguy26
Hey guys, for those that didn’t already know, there’s a petition out there to keep service pay past May 31st. The petition also calls to permanently add the $3/hour pay to our base pay for all the hard work we as baristas put in every single day. Please share this with everyone you know!!!! It already has 17,000 supporters! Link is below:

No. Starbucks is an entry level job.

I think the point is we’re still in a pandemic. Partners are still at risk. We should keep the , essentially, hazard pay.

And I disagree it’s “entry level.” Even if it may be, some of the things we do are harder than jobs higher up on the rung. 🤷🏻‍♀️

100% agree with this. I’ve had several jobs where I started at $15-20/hr and Starbucks is hands down the hardest job I’ve had 😅

I can kind of understand what you’re saying since what you’re saying comes from viewing things at surface-level. But it runs much MUCH deeper than Starbucks. Every single entry-level job needs to pay their employees more. Why? Because people need to feed their kids, contribute to their household, or pay to survive. I’m not going to go into a whole spiel about it though because I know that you really are not going to change your mind nor read the whole thing as I know you probably feel like you’ve heard it all, but $10 an hour is NOT a living wage and something should definitely be done about it.

Service Pay actually gives Starbucks employees the wage they should be getting regularly. At the very least, Partners should be getting compensated for doing “essential” work in the middle of a global crisis.
Are you actually contributing to the conversion, or just being a troll?

in that case please sign my petition to give all baristas entry level bills to pay
