This is a very scattered rant

Today was ridiculous. For some reason we started doing cafe transactions this week when we were suppose to start it this upcoming Monday. During midday today it was absolute madness. I was in charge of handing out mobile orders and charging people in the cafe area at the same time WHILE ALSO SETTING UP THE 7 DRINKS people are ordering in cup holders, and handling remakes. Like how the fuck am I suppose to do that when there’s always someone in line waiting to order and 5 people coming in every 3 minutes to pick up mobile orders that I have to pass out, while also setting up delivery. I feel really bad for the people on mobile bar too, because they also have to handle cafe. Then customers get frustrated because they’re waiting too long. Not to mention the mobile area is a disaster and everything is scattered. Its really hard to gather drinks and food for certain people when I have people asking where their drink is & On top of that my shift lead is not even being understanding, they’re kind of a dick towards me and was acting as if I’ve gotten training on handling this situation that’s completely new to me. There’s not even a proper system in place. On top of that there’s 10 people in Cafe area that do not know how to distance themselves and don’t use their face covers correctly. I feel super unsafe. I don’t know why we can’t just go back to drive thru and mobile pick up only :( I am scared for when cafe is actually open next week :/

sincerely,
a very sad, cold, cheese danish

Welcome to a pandemic when money is more important the saving lives. Sorry the starbucks is putting you into a situation like this. Fast food restaurants are not set up for protecting people from viruses. If anything their set up to speed them.

my store opened back up recently and we were told it was going to be drive thru only, only to come in the day before we opened to see we’re doing take away too :( apparently safety come first but I don’t really see how when you’re letting customers all around us

Former SM at a licensed store. We never closed and it was awful because every store around us was closed except for one DT. And that had a 45 minute wait time. I didn’t understand why we stayed open. We were just encouraging people to come in and spread their germs. We ended up having one barista in the hospital after they tested positive. And they’re only in their 20s. And the manager of the store said they did a deep cleaning of our kiosk overnight but it didn’t even look like anything had been touched.

Last week was my final week as an SM because I got another (better) job elsewhere. I flat out told out DM that I didn’t feel our health and well being was valued. She unfortunately can’t just close us if the licensee wants to keep us open.
