Set the standard. I would rather be respected than liked at my place of employment.

Yeah this. Gentle shoves in the right direction. Honestly I find when I start doing things the right way people follow suit.
The see the some times that prepped backup and clean dishpit actually benefit them in the end.
Document it everything if your wanting a promotion. Maybe that might involve another move but at least you'll have documentation of your success if need be.

Talk to your dm if things don’t change. But don’t forget I have felt that way about every store I ever transferred too. In 6 months or even 3 sometimes it’s like so many people leave and come in and it’s a revolving door. Give it some time. I am about to transfer again and I’m like let’s do this. It always evolves and just speak up. It’s okay too :)

Are you me?? I am in the same boat. Wishing you the best of luck!
Edit: it’s hard to do things “the right way” because you don’t want to step on any toes (at least that’s how I feel). As time goes on though it may be easier to set the standard

How are you coping??? All day I just repeat in my head “I made a mistake.. I made a mistake” and miss my old store and think about how much more fun I’d be having over there..
And yes, I totally agree with you about stepping on toes.. such a hard boat to be in.

It’s all still new so I’m trying to keep an open mind. I’m also keeping in mind that everyone is just returning from cat pay (at least here) so things are rusty all around.
I also transferred to a district with a few stores nearby that can’t open yet so I know that if things really aren’t getting better, I have some options...I don’t know if this helps but transferring is always hard for me. It hurts to leave an awesome team that feels like family. Eventually it works itself out, or it doesn’t, and that’s ok too. We’re lucky to work for a great company that cares about us so I stay positive and feel like there’s always options!

Thank you for your optimism! It’s refreshing for me to hear. I’ll try to keep an open mind & adapt to their doings, while trying not to compromise standard/whatnot.

Curious about the stores in your district that “can’t open yet.” Are these stores that are still closed for safety reasons, or due to partner availability to return, or reduced sales projections for your district? Mine just re-opened for half-days 7 days a week. I volunteered to use some vacation for a week so other partners can get more hours. Just wondering what other districts are seeing. I know some DT stores have been just slammed, others but at all.

They’re cafe only! There are enough drive thrus open so that the partners whose stores are closed can work

Been here before!! I keep working to standard. After a few weeks (get to know people first) I start sharing standards. Back them up with writing from the hub. Talk to your SM about becoming a barista trainer. Usually this situation is due to bad training at the store! If their barista trainer doesn't know the standards then no one knows. It really just takes one positive person to turn that around. Be respectful when coaching and start with the newest baristas! Please remember to use the hub for proof!!!! That way if you are challenged you can show the standard!! You also may learn something!

Thanks so much! I am a barista trainer so that’ll be perfect.

If your SM likes outside hires, ask to train them and show them your standard of doing things first. Helps out a little bit

WAIT. This exact thing happened to me and I'm experiencing it right now. All the same things

Who cares, keep doing it right! One thing Starbucks has taught me is the most I can do is set an example and control my own actions. Everything else is out of my hands.
