ASU benefits? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by alycrawford42-
Does anyone know if there’s a minimum time you have to have been working to be eligible for the college achievement plan?

You’re eligible at the same time you’re eligible for all other benefits. So 90 days from your hire date if you’ve been working 20/hrs a week average.

To add on to this, I would talk to ASU before the 90 days to see what paperwork needs to be in order. I applied in November 2016, but didn't start till May 2017 due to waiting for transcripts and financial aid crap. You still have to fill out the FASFA even if you never qualify for anything

Oh good. My SM is fairly new so she wasn’t 100% sure and she told me a year and I wouldn’t hit that until the end of the summer and I want to start classes in their summer 2 section 😅

Ya definitely not a year lol, that would suck. The advisors for SCAP are super helpful if you call too! I graduated from the program and loved it.

I believe it’s 20 hours, just like the health benefits at least that’s how it was when it was introduced. Also you have to maintain a certain GPA to be eligible for the reimbursement every semester. You pay for it up front.

You actually no longer have to maintain a certain GPA to be reimbursed. You are reimbursed as long as you stay employed by Starbucks the entire semester and don't get dropped from the classes.

That’s good that they adjusted that. If someone’s grades fall it might be circumstantial and losing out on that tuition reimbursement might make the situation worse. I know there are a few things that changed since it first rolled out.

That's why I didn't initially sign up in the beginning. Numbers aren't my friends and I didn't want to get stuck paying

I'm taking the classes now GPA doesn't effect reimbursement, but if it becomes so low you don't qualify for federal aid anymore Starbucks will not pay anything.
