Make sure you get your bonus’s for training new hires in your pay check it should be added to your pay stub a couple weeks after they complete their training!!

I have been unofficially training baristas for months. Make sure you are being compensated if that is important to you.

How did you do the barista trainer training on a whim? It has to be assigned to you...?

yeah I just asked if I could and my SM said sure and assigned it to me lol

go onto the partner hub and print out the routines. milk steaming routine, beverage routine, sequencing, etc and then just work through major steps and key points for each with the trainee!

The good news is that because you’ve only been a barista for six months, you can probably remember some parts of your own training that were extremely helpful to you (or at least parts that didn’t work out so well). Use those experiences to guide you and encourage questions. I, personally, always try to remember to explain not only what we do as baristas, but the “why” we do things this way, as well as where to find easy-to-forget information. It can be more helpful to a green bean if they know where to look for answers as opposed to being told to just “memorize it”.
