New ceo lowered the quality of our items. New ceo Fired a lot of management. CEO put hammer down on labor. Next step... lay off staff. All about getting that stock prices up.

They won't lay off people, they'll just cut your hours to the point you quit. Saves them face, rather than the news saying, Starbucks are laying off 1000's of employees. Been through a few rounds of that already.

I had a phone call w someone from P&L and she was telling me ways in how the company and my store could lose money. So she asks me if I had been a cause for my store to lose money. When I was hired, which was a little over two yrs ago, I didn’t understand that we only got one food mark out for every shift and so I would get food almost every time I took a break. I told the lady that what I did was completely unintentional, just a misunderstanding, and I had been doing it for a couple of months. Cue to over a year ago a partner kindly explained to me about it and I used my food mark out and still paid if I got food later in my shift.
My DM called me on Friday saying that P&L thought it was better that I be terminated.
I understand that I should have clarified with my SM about the mark outs, and I just thinks it’s unfair that I had no warning about the phone call.

Wow!! That’s harsh. I think at this point they are looking for any and everything to term people over. They lost money and now they need a way to recoup what was lost. File that unemployment and get that extra $600 a week! Then get a new better job and be happy!!!

As of right now I haven’t been, but my manager told us that corporate is going to force her to cut hours beginning 6/1, coincidently the same day our pay goes down! I am on a break from polishing my resume rn actually
