So I’m beginning to register for summer classes and was wondering if taking 9 credits was too much to do while working 20 hrs a week. I don’t want to be too unavailable to work because I know how busy summers can be at any Starbucks store(self.starbucksbaristas)

I did 9 hours at school and 20 hours at work this last semester. I found it to be okay (before covid, that is). It was a little dicey at times. It will definitely depend on you as a student, but I’ll think you’ll probably be okay. Good luck!

It honestly depends on the classes and your time management. I take 12-15 credits per semester while working full time and I’ve had it play out both ways.

I’ve done that during fall and spring but this is my first time taking classes and working during the summer

You could always limit your availability and feel it out the first weeks. After that, adjust accordingly.

I did 15 credits and 30 hours a week during college. It’s all about balance and responsibility.

This past semester I took 15 credits and worked 30-35 hours a week. ...don't do what I did unless you don't want a life and want to scream into a pillow several times a day as the weight of all the stress cripples you.

Every semester I took 18 credits, so 9 each quarter, and worked 25-30 hours a week. It was pretty doable for me personally. I mean I graduated in 2 years doing that so it was worth it haha!

I took 18 credits and was working 40 hours to pay for out of school tuition and living. Don’t do what I did. Finished in 4 years but I regret it hahahah

This past semester I took 18 units and worked 25 hour weeks. My grades suffered because of lack of personal motivation not time constraints. You should be fine
