Why do customers be so "Extra" just to get free drinks?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by MemesandSpeech
Today, I was on handout and a women claimed she ordered 2 drinks.
When handing out her drink, she claimed it was 2 NOT 1 (Even though the sticker SHOWED to be ORDER: 1 OF 1), thus I asked for her mobile receipt to then, her husband comes up and start complaining how they waited 15+min for 2 drinks. I asked him for the mobile receipt and to (No shocking) surprise, it was one drink for today's date! I tried explaining to him that she ordered one drink and to look closely at the mobile order dates but no "The customer is ALWAYS RIGHT" nonsense. -\_-

Had a customer come in today with no cash, and claimed his debit card didn't have tap. Since we can't take pins at our cafe only location, I told him he could sign up for the mobile app or else I couldnt serve him. He said "I was under the impression I'd get my drink for free due to the inconvenience."

The worst are the customers who try to change their drink when they are waiting at the handoff. “Oh can you make that with almond milk”. “Oh can you just add some of this” Um how about you order your drink correctly and pay for what you actually end up getting. I’ve straight up had someone modify their drink so much it was literally a completely different beverage than what she ordered....I just can’t.

\> Um how about you order your drink correctly and pay for what you actually end up getting. (YES X INFINITY)
Especially when you have to bring it back for bar to insert the adjustments TO THEN BRING IT BACK TO THE OUTSIDE AND HEAR THE CUSTOMER SAY "CAN YOU ADD MORE OF \_\_\_\_? OH AND 11 EQUALS AND A VENTI CUP OF ICE"

That happened once with a mobile order. In my head I was like “Even when YOU are the one choosing the modifications for your drink you can’t get it right?!” 🤦🏽♀️

We get a customer through drive every. Single. Day. Who orders an add shot at the window after hes already paid, i guess expecting most baristas to not slow down drive by re charging him.
Most of know us him and his car so we'll ask "do you want your add shot" while hes still ordering. Surprise surprise, he'll say no then STILL try to add it at window.
Sir, it is less than a dollar. Just pay it.

Also, shout to the regular who gets an ice triple espresso in a venit cup with extra soy, and by that she means soy to the top......that is a LATTE ma'am.
We tried telling her no twice and the shit storm that followed was just not worth it

My store bought a 4oz measuring cup specifically so we can measure it and say "any more than this is a latte and we will need to charge you for it"

Oh that's brilliant! I love that

They act extra because they know we have to oblige 🙃

\^ The painful truth \^
\> Customer asked for extra milk, we put it in her coffee, she later meant a VENTI cup of milk as in the "Extra"

we had a costumer come in today claiming we messed up his drink. he told us it was a venti when in fact he only paid for a tall 🤔

Had customers that ordered ice drinks, TOUCH IT and say "This ain't mine." Because it's too light looking (Maybe the partners added too much milk / Other times it's confusing since they order EXTRA MILK! Thus it will be milky / light looking) ......thus we can't take the drinks back and the barista's get mad at me because I tell them to re-do it

Ok this happened the other day to us, a lady pulls up to the window and is like “I have a mobile order for Linda”. So we gather it and I bring it over, and this woman looks at me and says “that’s supposed to be iced”. I looked at the stickers, they weren’t. So I said, “Un the order says it’s hot. Did you just order incorrectly?” And she. got. mad y’all. “I do this all the time. It’s always iced. Why is it that this is the only Starbucks that never gets this right?” And I said, “can I see your phone please?” So she shows me the receipt and I pulled up an iced americano on my mobile app, and we had a startlingly humiliating moment where surprise surprise I was right. We remade them but I also taught her how to use the app. Bruh it was wild.
