Painting name tags? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by alycrawford42-
Has anyone here painted with acrylics on their name tags? Do I need a primer? How do you make sure it stays on?

Clear nail polish works, tape peels off eventually, and mod podge sells a clear acrylic spray that makes anything stick

I use acrylic paint, and nothing to seal it. I don’t have any issues with it chipping, in fact I have to spend nearly 15 minutes scrubbing the paint off when I change the design.

Yeah, part of the No Sealant gang. My fiance has had the same nametag unblemished for 3 years now.

You don't need a primer, but a layer of a base color will help. I use flex seal clear sealant and it's not going anywhere.

if you have mod podge that works great to seal the paint! :)

I just use the erasable markers and cover it with clear tape. It works great and if you ever feel like changing it up it comes right off

another option if you have a decent selection of the paint markers in your store is using them and then covering it with clear nail polish... not exactly an answer to your question but...
