My store is open from 6-10 currently, even on weekends, and the new block scheduling goes 3 different times blocks:
•Opening: 5:30-11, 6-11:30, and 7-11:30
•Mid: 11-4:30, 11:30-5:00, and 12-5:30
•Closing: 4:30-9, 5-10:30, and 5:30-10:30
But I do think it’s more of a matter of how many partners you have, how much money is your store making, is your store hiring more people, etc. The partners that have the most hours at my store are literally working only about 26 hours a week, and we’re all scheduled for 5 days a week. It is honestly a good way to sell “safety measures” to the public, but it is the most horrible way of working. Especially when there’s a new launch and you only have 3 partners on the floor and a shift who has to do their own stuff but also take care of the mobile order pick up station because we literally cannot. We have dto, dtr, and bar, there is no extra person. It’s just a good way to watch everyone crash and burn.

My store kinda just abandoned the dto position, we have someone on ovens that also watches the door.

We kept the dto position because we have new partners on dtr and so they still can’t multitask, and our times are still extremely important to our sm and dm, so... everyone else just has to run around. You can imagine how we were by the end of our shifts with that launch. Phones ringing nonstop, people in the drive thru begging to give them cups after we told them we didn’t have anymore, people literally trying to just over our pick up station to see what cups we had. It was chaos and every partner left their shift with a migraine. And that’s because we all only worked 5 hours. Lol

Thanks for the info!! Our block schedule definitely isn’t like that. I’m opening blocks but they vary every shift and some go into the afternoon.

We have in between shifts, which means that that particular partner is there mostly to cover breaks and lunches (if they’re needed to be given). But our hours stay pretty set, so I think I’ve you’re given an hour, you’re supposed to stay there, at least for 2 weeks so that way if anyone gets sick, only that group of people can be isolated. I personally don’t think it will work, but I mean.. whatever lets them sleep at night. lol

It makes no sense to wait til June to start it. My manager said the whole point of it is to help keep the virus from spreading if one person in a group got it, or something like that. My schedule is different starting next week, but I’ve been working mornings, where we all end at 12 and the second group comes in. We only have two groups.

Yeah I know. Idk what’s going on but we just got our schedule for June 1st and that’s what’s happening at our store. Obviously I’m not in charge of this but I’m not sure when this decision was made

Oh okay interesting. Thanks for your info

It's not a compulsory rule, only if block scheduling works for your store.

we used to do blocks by days so (M,TH,S) or (T,W,F,Sat) but they changed it so now we have a morning block that is gone by 2 and a nightblock where they all clock in at 2
