Talk to your supervisors. Tell them you aren’t feeling confident on bar and ask if it’d be possible for you to practice barring with another barista or a trainer if there are any delays in traffic. I’m more than happy to have a primary bar partner plus a new barista and seasoned barista working together on secondary bar if we have the time and they need the practice.
You can also ask your supervisor or trainer to make you a cheat sheet for shots/pumps for different standard drinks. It’d be something you could easily study on your own time. Once you have the basics down, things are pretty simple. Like if you know that a standard venti hot latte gets two shots and 5 pumps (if it has a flavor), you can make any hot venti latte.

As a shift my advice is to talk to your shift supervisor, tell them you aren’t confident yet and ask to shadow someone or have someone shadow you, when I started I literally messed up drinks 7out of 10 times. If it’s super busy maybe you can do CS of drive thru window, the most important thing is to take your time learn one bar at a time, I learned all cold bar and perfected it before I actually started doing hot bar. Also ask for a cheat sheet some stores have stickers on the mastrenas that tell you how many shots and pumps of syrup you need, maybe your store can do something similar. I can’t say this enough to all new baristas, ASK QUESTIONS. Most shifts love teaching, I know I do

Please know we all started out struggling! It took me forever to nail down basic frappuccinos. Take your time 🧡 definitely agree with the other posts. Talk to your supervisor about how you feel. You should be able to do more practice drinks.
