You’re psyching yourself out big time lol. I finished my degree through ASU at Starbucks and left right after I graduated and so did almost everyone else at my store who did the program.

Graduating with zero student debt is a luxury you’re offered that many other people will never have the opportunity to experience.

Don’t listen to them. I know at least 4 people personally who got their degree from ASU thru Starbucks, got a job right after in their field and quit. It’s up to you if you want to stay at Starbucks after you graduate, not anybody else.

I graduated in December and just found a job outside of starbucks. I would say its just hard to leave because of the other benefits like health care. All that really matters is how hard you look for another job after you graduate. Really start thinking about building an awesome resume (I got a lot of help on reddit) so you can start applying the second you graduate.

I don't think anyone from my store has graduated from ASU yet (that I know of), but I can confirm that i certainly feel trapped at a job I hate for the sake of free college.

I started at ASU'S online program as a junior since all of my credits from county transferred over even though I got my associate's ten years earlier. Being part of the SCAP program has changed my life for the better as I now have more paths open to me after I get my degree. Do I worry about staying at Starbucks longer than I plan? Yeah, a little, but I still have more doors open to me with minimal debt (not zero because I started at ASU before becoming a Starbucks barista). But I also know that there is no curse. So many people I work with are stuck and they have debt from other colleges looming over their heads. You just have to keep pushing ahead and know it can take months to find a job in your field after graduation.
