But is it still acceptable for a manager to just ignore a message and never respond? They could atleast help me on working this out. My store manager in the past was still able to update a schedule even if it wasnt 21 days in advance. This temporary manager hasnt helped. Its not my fault that jobs are suddenly reopening last minute. I did not get early notice at my second job and the starbucks temp manager knows this.

Yeah. It's not an emergency. It can be dealt with in the morning during business hours. Managers aren't robots. Watching managers have two stores to deal with.

It's not your fault, but it's part of having two jobs. Sorry.

You have two jobs.

First of all, it’s not an emergency and your manager is not obligated to respond to not emergency text messages during non business hours.

Second, dear god don’t text managers constantly about work when they aren’t working and especially when they are on vacation. Non business hours texts should be relegated to ‘I’m puking a ton I won’t be in tomorrow’ or actual emergencies.

Well, it’s Sunday and most managers have Sunday’s off. So he is probably not responding because it’s his day off and he doesn’t want to work on his day off. Just talk to him tomorrow about it.

Every store I have ever worked in has had schedules made AT LEAST 2 weeks in advance, usually we have 3 weeks up. IMO It sounds like Starbucks may just not be the place for you. Especially if you’re unhappy there as well. You already have another job lined up, so if you like it there that’s where I would go. You’re mental health is important. It can effect so many other things in life. Things can fall through the cracks sometimes, I wouldn’t say anyone is intentionally out to get you, or ignoring you. They have a lot of employees to handle. I should add I’m a barista as well, so I’m coming from that standpoint and not as a manager.

The update is for two weeks from now. He already made the schdules.

That’s what was intended by my “two weeks in advance” comment. It’s always been that way as far as I know. Basically you can’t count the week we’re already in or working, but then they always have the next 2 weeks already up. I hope you find somewhere that you feel is right for you though. No one should be miserable at work, we have to spend too much time there for that.
