It's all about teamwork. Our morning crew always sets up two toddy's ready to brew. Filter and ground coffee inside. The evening crew then does the water end, having it ready around 11am the next day. We have a total of four toddy's so we rotate them out each day.

One of my biggest tips is communicate well with your fellow shifts! Ask what you can do to help set them up for success and how they can help you. I know at so many stores the openers and closers are constantly at each other’s throats over tasks that haven’t been done so I think it’s so important to be in consistent communication with each other and set each other up for success. Having a written task sheet is also really helpful for giving yourself a routine and making sure you get everything done that is expected of you.

Use your resources, that’s the biggest advice I have to offer, roles and routines will really help you out, I know working at the Bux offers it’s different challenges day by day, but the more of the rhythm you have the more consistent you will be. For example, use your store walk card right at the beginning of your shift, use your deployment shit (of course you’ll need to make some adjustments as you go, just based off the demand of customers,) but it’ll give you a visual idea of how your play should look like. On top of that, be confident, you got placed in that position for a reason but at the same time be open to feedback, it’ll take some time to establish a routine, but you’ll get there.
Also, don’t forget to leverage your more developed partners, have them help you out, it’ll feed into their own development as well! Best of luck & congrats!
