okay this pandemic has the Karen’s evolving....ridiculous how much we are forced to accommodate rude and ignorant people but they can’t take better care of their own baristas. (self.starbucksbaristas)

I had a customer come in yesterday wearing a mask, asked if she had to wear it, and then took it off when I said no. Thanks lady.

We’re required to but they’re not. I’d say about 25% of people are wearing them still.

Lucky. No masks required at our store and I don't think any customers I've seen have worn them.

Yea, I don’t see it lasting long. My store was like that too a few weeks ago. Everything progressed to our cafe being open and selling cups real quick.

It's county ordinance where my store is located to wear masks when in public. We're giving the custies the thin black ones to wear if they didn't bring their own. Had a guy yell at me and my ssv not an hour ago tho when we asked him to wear his mask and he just kept hovering it about an inch from his face. The audacity of some people... he had the nerve to yell full volume that it was "his right as an American to not have to wear a mask".

Yeah we got a memo that telling people they had to have a mask on to get service was ruining the Starbucks Experience ™️

Wow... that's utterly ridiculous. Isn't health and safety just, I dunno, a bit more important than dampening the sbux experience? Wouldn't ensuring that we are providing a safe environment be part of that experience?

Don't say no, say instead that you are not allowed to make a recommendation. She should contact those in charge and ask them rather than some random person who isn't directly dealing with the health crisis.

That’s a good rule of thumb in a lot of what we do. You kind of want to do the thinking for them. Do I have to wear a mask is met with ‘We really appreciate you wearing your mask *name* thank you for your help’ 🙃🙃

Exactly. For most situations a bit of thought can help you come up with a phrasing that is noncommittal but suggests what outcome you prefer. For the rest, evade, evade, evade.

Every other business I go to doesn't allow you inside without a mask on. Starbucks allows customers to not wear masks. I feel unsafe here

And how we have to just give them stuff and bend the rules for them every single time now. A lady called and I told her the cafe isn’t open yet and in order to remake the order she can come through drive, we were super short staffed, oh no she comes and is banging on the door to let her in. I stated again the cafe is closed, and I told her it will be a few because there were orders ahead of her, I’m trying to do dto, food, cs, and run the mobiles to the table. Nope I had to stop was I was doing and make it right then for her. I’m so over it.

People have been coming up to our mobile table with masks on and then taking them off to talk to us. Like what? Isn’t there a reason you’re wearing the dang mask?

Also we’re working our butts off. We don’t need people to make our lives harder by being jerks 🙄

I’ve said it from the beginning, COVID needs a new name for Karen. She’s a whole other beast now. I’ve been going with Susan or Linda depending on the day.

This makes me so glad in my county it's absolutely required to wear one. Like I can get away with being rude to a Karen if they don't wear one.

I’d tell them that if they can’t bother to wear a mask they have to stay 6 ft away from me. which means they couldn’t get to the counter or pay so they might as well leave 🤷‍♀️
