A lot of Facebook barista groups are very negative right now. And I get it. It’s a stressful time and Starbucks could definitely be doing more considering how much money they make. Keeping service pay, respecting and paying people who want or need to stay home, the weirdly cultish recordings and meditation, opening cafes, etc, etc. This company isn’t perfect. I understand that.

But the people I see every time I go into work is worth it to me. They are all wonderful people and my dear friends, and I’m glad that we can ride out this pandemic together. Individually we can’t fix everything about our situation, but together we can make our shifts bearable with jokes and gossip and general positivity when social media baristas seem to be so negative.
