Has anyone else not received a thermometer?? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Our store has been open since last Monday, we still have no thermometer. My SM told us in our training we have to take our temperature twice a day on days we are working, but I literally have no access to a thermometer, everywhere is constantly sold out, and no one in my store has had any luck getting one. I guess a thermometer doesn’t really matter though, since asymptomatic people can spread COVID and the Starbucks issued ones are hit and miss??? What do y’all think? I just feel bad doing my check-in daily and saying my temp is under a certain number when I haven’t even taken my temperature in years

I would reach out to your SM and let them know that you all need a thermometer ASAP. If that conversation doesn’t work or you get push back, reach out to your DM or call Partner Resources and let them know of your situation. At this point, your store should definitely have a thermometer and you all shouldn’t have to be lying on the partner-pre checks about this. Wishing you the best, stay safe ❤️

Thank you for this response!! I will definitely reach out if it doesn’t come in our upcoming roasting plant order. The DM is aware that we don’t have one, she’s been in our store several days since we’ve been back, but I will reach out to partner resources as well :)

Why are you even doing the check in (not you personally, the store) if there’s no thermometer? That’s a huge issue, both for the partners checking in and those verifying it 🤢

I agree, and my manager agrees as well to be honest. I think it’s been amplified in my area as well because a lot of stores who have received the thermometers have found them to be faulty. I would prefer to take every single precaution possible while serving the public, but I wonder if people are being falsely reassured by thermometer readings when we all know COVID may be spread through asymptomatic carriers. It’s just a struggle to wrap my brain around it
