Hey guys so I need some advice. I follow one of my coworkers on insta and she posted on her story that she had like 10 confetti cups for sale and was charging 15$ a cup. I was just gonna not say anything but then when we worked together today she was whispering it to my other coworkers. Mama raised no snitch but like idk what should I do. Pls help should I tell my SM or just ignore it

I don’t agree with it but keep in mind that you reporting it will definitely get them fired.

Honestly maybe just tell her nicely that it’s against policy to resell cups and she shouldn’t be telling all your coworkers because she could get fired. She might not realize how much she’s violating policy and that it could jeopardize her job. Cause I mean if she’s nice I would maybe go directly to her but if she’s rude and doesn’t care I’d consider going to the SM or at least a supervisor.

I say mind your business , yes it does sound fishy but maybe she doesn’t make enough money at work , I’m just saying not trying to be rude

it's specifically forbidden in the contract we all signed when we got hired.
if she needs to make "enough money" there are PLENTY of other things that she can resell without putting her job at risk. consider that getting fired is not typically a good path to making "enough money".

Right?! People like this don’t have any consideration but themselves especially during a pandemic! Maybe her hours got cut? And this is her way of trying to make bills are getting paid but no someone wants to be little Miss Save Corporate ! Seriously quit thinking about your egotistical self!

Did she purchase the 10 cups with her money?
dankdandelion [OP]2 points3y ago
Yes but it's about 1.50$ a cup for partners and she's selling them each for 15$
dancing_durian6 points3y ago
Definitely not cool on her part but this horde buy thing always comes back and bites people in their behinds (think sanitizer hoarders). Once people realize they can go to their local starbucks and get those for $3 a piece, she’ll be stuck with the 10 cups. Maybe you can advertise that on your Insta story? Idk if that’s petty or not 😅

I'd be like "yo if your gonna be doing this, be smart about it" and that's it. Then unfollow her so you have no further knowledge of the ordeal.

It’s against Starbucks policy to purchase products with your discount to resell them and she’ll definitely be fired if corporate finds out. If she didn’t use her discount then maybe it will be okay.

I mean 100% AH move on that coworkers part to buy those cups (that are like $1.50 with the discount I think? Could be wrong though) and up sell them that much but personally I don’t think it’s worth getting involved in whatever drama reporting that would create.

Confetti cups are on weekly order, why is everyone acting like we’re not getting more 🙈also if it was just one or two I’d probs not care but 15?! Like damn that’s the whole box
Gwillybean1 points3y ago
Yeah no I wouldn’t say anything. They will definitely be fired and you don’t need that on your conscience.
ReneeZeLe-4 points3y ago
If she bought them herself then it's her choice to sell them, as long as shes not trying to upsell the stores cups.
cfuqua1 points3y ago
no, it's against company policy. when you agree to work at starbucks you agree to not use your discount to weaken the brand.
