How is everyone looking with the June labor cuts? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by emozzy515
My manager sat us all down one by one and let us know that labor is going to be cut in June to make up for the expenses the company took from the catastrophe pay and the 30 day quarantine option. I’m a bit concerned by it and think it was a poor move, so I was wondering if others have the same issue or feel the same way.

My store is not experiencing cuts at all. We stayed open the entire time and our revenue didn’t change that much. We did have only Dt open (not even mobile orders) and we’re doing around $5-7K per day which was lower than normal, but still good. Once we started doing mobile curbside pickup we went up to $8K per day and once we start doing garb and go (which my SM is not doing till mid June because he wants to make sure all partners are comfortable) we should be back up to our normal $9-10K per day.

Our hours are staying the same because we never closed, but did open later and closed earlier. If we were to keep our normal hours, I’m sure our revenue would’ve stayed the same.

I got scheduled 33 hours this week even though my average is 25 (I’m a PT shift) and I have an actual full tome job which just reopened.

Yeah my SM emailed us all a couple of weeks ago to tell us that our hours were gonna be cut. I don't work a lot so mine have probably been cut the least, but others are facing 10-15 hours less a week than their average. Luckily we're in a state that does partial unemployment. Sure would be nice to keep getting service pay considering we're all still at risk every time we work.

Yeah that’s one of my concerns. I feel like they’re already making cuts to recover like we’re not still in the middle of COVID.

Went down from an average of 31 to just barely scraping 20. I also can’t really find any stores to borrow at since many in our district still aren’t reopening. I’m looking at getting a second job, possibly dog walking or becoming a cashier at Whole Foods.
