We have a regular who comes every day (sometimes multiple times). I always recognize his order and know his name and make sure to say hi when I see him, even if I’m just out and about in the neighborhood. About a week ago I was on reg and took his order, and after a little he walked back over and told me he didn’t know my name, so I told him my name and showed him my name tag so he knew where to find it if he forgot, and now he always greets me by name! There’s nothing that makes me feel more valued than when customers know my name.
