i think it was good intention, maybe they thought they were doing you a favor. you must communicate! tell them you appreciate the offer but you thought about it some more and it wouldnt be a good fit.

you have every right to be annoyed! but i do think your shift manager was trying to be nice and maybe even told your shift that you would be good at it
