Espresso Machine Locked (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by ThisWeekend6
My Starbucks location has been closed for several weeks. We’re trying to get everything prepped and ready to go for re-open. But we’re having a problem with the espresso machine. The machine says it’s locked and needs to be cleaned. I tried putting the tablets in and doing a rinse cycle. It’s still giving me the error. What else can I try to unlock it?

Call facilities, but here is a wild guess, the new mastrenas lock you out if you miss a day of cleaning.

Nobody really anticipated a store being closed for so long. It’s possible there is a glitch where it requires a cleaning cycle per day it wasn’t run (e.g. 48 hours requires two cycles...)

Maybe run some extra cleanings?

Mastrena 2? It needs to do the deep cleaning that you do at the end of the night, not just a rinse or regular clean.

You should have had a packet that explains exactly how to re-open the store. Watch out for the nitro machine if you have one, apparently you can force it to rinse with water but nobody knew how and PCC had an insane wait time. We ended up making iced coffee to purge the system and then had CB ready for the next morning.

Hold the button for 10 seconds until the light turns on again. No offense but it’s kind of gross no one knew how to clean the nitro lol. It’s a clean play task.

... Yeah, that didn't work for us. I do clean play every week. Didn't need the sass.

It’s not sass but dude we’ve had nitro for so long now. It should have been called in the first time you guys realized that you can’t run the rinse cycle. It’s just gross :/

We can run the rinse cycle, it's to be done with cold brew generally, not water. The machine locks up when it's just water, we opened up after an entire month closed and didn't have any convenient cold brew. There was even a special note that you'll need to call to facilities if the machine won't take straight water.

It's sass, and you're being rude making assumptions and acting condescending.
