In my county, everyone is required to wear a mask when you are in a public place. There are two giant signs outside of my store making it very clear that masks are required for entry. Despite this, there are so many customers who completely disregard the signs and come in without a mask. It’s honestly exhausting and frustrating being the “mask police” and constantly telling customers that masks are required. And it makes it worse when customers try to argue with me....it is literally the county law. If they still refuse to wear a mask, I say they can mobile order and I’ll meet them at the door w/ their drink, or they can go 1/2 a mile down the street to the drive through Starbucks and order there. Some lady was giving me a difficult time today about not wearing a mask and it almost brought me to tears. I feel like I’m at my breaking point. I’m living with an immunocompromised family member and have taken every precaution to not bring the virus home, my DM said I’m not qualified for a paid LOA, and I can’t afford to take an unpaid LOA. And now I’m putting myself at risk for infection by talking to those without masks in close proximity when I’m asking them to leave. I get that wearing a mask is uncomfortable, but it’s only for a few minutes while you wait for your drink. Thanks for reading my rant
