Lol we do it’s just some partners are stronger than others and unfortunately the strong partners are all super jaded so since covid has started they’ve reduced their availabilities

We just need one more body but they won’t give us the hours for it until we “earn” them so we’re just drowning everyday for a solid three hours. I totally get the jaded feeling though. I have a lot of partners feeling that way right now.

Our front register person was also on warming, and we had a few streaks where DT was all drinks no food. We never really know what the day will hold!

We had been SLAMMIN as every other store within 20 minutes of us was closed for a little while, and it’s thankfully calmed down since they’ve reopened but we still get a solid rush in DT from about 8 am to 6 pm. Please make it stop, lol

This is us, we have a line that starts at open which is 5:30 and doesn’t stop until about 6-7pm. On Monday we had a customer in drive at 5:15. I looked at the other partners and said DO NOT take their order yet. She was mad that we didn’t because she could see us in there, I was like yes and we don’t open until 5;30, she wanted to know why we couldn’t just take her order since it was only a latte, I let her know because the mastrenas weren’t even ready

At my store my shift is just helping people who come inside. There’s still a DTO person up front, but they’re not helping inside customers. That doesn’t make sense to have someone just doing POS now.

Im in a cafe store and can’t imagine 3 hrs and nothing to do. We run a 2, 3 or 4 part coverage in Go Mode all day long. Register is a planted position but does warming on mobiles. It’s odd to me that you’d not have work. Cute sticker though

Ideally as I was told the front reg should be planted meaning no gathering, no supporting, strictly front reg. If the store has the labor for partners for other positions, then that’s what by the book they should be doing. We don’t have the labor and we’re extremely high volume so we can’t have them planted, but my boss said if we had the labor that’s pretty much how it would be.

Shift leads should receive empathy training, and be taught to regularly ask baristas how they're doing, and taught how to read partners' emotions, and how to treat them/give them a better work environment.

As Sbux isn't really making money at this point, having baristas here is really just to support/pay baristas, so if they want to leave early, they should be encouraged too.

SSV here, I have been such a cheerleader for my baristas, if I’m not on bar or another planted position with them I’m telling them on headset how amazing they are and how thankful I am for them!
