Customers don’t understand personal space even during a pandemic(self.starbucksbaristas)

Had an older gentleman come through the drive thru the other day, handed me CHANGE for his venti frap (as if counting out literal handfuls of change for a frap isn’t bad enough when the world isn’t going through a fast-spreading virus), and proceeded to cradle my hand in his and give a smile while I gave him back his change. I sometimes honestly don’t understand why people feel the need to hold your hand when you give them change? It happens way more than it should

People keep trying to touch me. When I get put in drive thru, i grab an extra empty plexi and make them put their money/change in it.

literally don’t understand WHY people feel the need to touch you when you’re just helping them pay anyways. i’ve had to sanitize my hands more times than the debit machine because people reach under the machine to literally grab my hand and pull it from me. it’s so awkward and uncomfortable, especially when it’s an actual line between life or death right now

If someone hands us cash or touches our hand, we go and wash up before handing any drinks or anything out

Why do people felt the need to grab your hand while on DTR, like I’m holding the cup at the bottom so you can take it from the middle tf!

Whenever I have a cash transaction I have the customer put the money in the basket. I also give change out that way. Really helps tips, too!
