starbucks starts hiring at 16, and no experience is necessary! you're in great shape. if you get an interview, my best advice is to be yourself and try to stay relaxed, since the important thing is to show you know how to connect with people and stay cool under pressure. good luck!

I’ve been working as a barista for just over 2 years now and got hired in high school at 17. I wouldn’t be worried at all by your lack of experience with coffee because most baristas I’ve worked with, including me, didn’t have any experience in a cafe before starting with Starbucks.

Don’t be discouraged if it takes a while to hear back from Starbucks though. Oftentimes job postings will be up for a while and managers will look through applications when they need to hire a few more baristas. It may take some time to hear back. I would recommend putting out applications at several stores if you can because it will greatly increase your chances of someone hiring, and you can always transfer to another store later if needed.

I had no experience and got hired. Honestly, the only thing that may hold you back, depending on that store's needs, is your availability if you have a regular school schedule.
